Postgraduate Department of Geography has been recognised as a place of research by the University of Calcutta in 2012. Dr. Soma Bhattacharya, the deceased Principal acted as research guide till January,2023.  Dr. Amitajyoti Bagchi, Associate Professor in Geography supervises  research scholars since 2012.

Dr Santanu Bag, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and Dr Avijit Mondal, Assistant Professor Department of Sanskrit are granted permission to act as co-guides of scholars pursuing research work in University of Calcutta and Seacom Skills University.
